Top 5 Washington DC Late Night Eats
It is late at night, you just got out the club and you are looking for something other than greasy pizza in DC? Well, these are some of our favorite spots.
1. Julias Empanadas 1221 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington D.C.
2452 18th Street Northwest, Washington D.C
Empanadas ready to go at night, YES! With locations in Adams Morgan and right next to the action on Connecticut Avenue, it is easy to see why this place is so popular. A warm Empanada with your choice of fillings that include meat and 2 vegetarian options (spinach, and the 'vegetarian'), provides a choice for everyone in your group. Don't forget to ask for the Green chutney sauce to properly enjoy one of these easy to walk + eat contraptions. Around 3 the line can get pretty long so beware.
2. Old City Cafe1773 Columbia Road Northwest, Washington D.C
So you are in Adams Morgan late at night? Plenty of greasy Pizza places to pick from with crowds of drunk nightclubbers and some random neighborhood trouble makers. Does that not sound fun to you either? Well, wait the Diner is smack in the middle with all those great breakfast items you love to get when you're a little twisted. Hold up, what is that ?? There is 15 minute wait for the Diner, and you are hungry! Okay, Amsterdam Falafel spot is open but again there are a ton of people all around and some definitely look sketchy.
Ok..ok...Don't worry we got you covered! Take a 2 minute walk and step into Old City Cafe and get your grub on without the hassle of typical Adams Morgan. This spot is located across from the McDonalds that sits on the edge of 18th and Columbia. Similar to Amsterdam Falafel, it provides Falafels with a fix it yourself bar that covers all the essentials (pickled cabbage, tahini, harissa, and fresh tomatoes + cucumbers). Unlike Amsterdam, the falafel balls are much more moist and tender. In addition, there are plenty of other items on the menu to try such as the Chicken Tawoook Sandwiches, Kifta Platter, all types of Kabobs & Schwarma, Hummus, and even great Lentil soup. One of the reasons this is also a go to choice for 360 is that while it is still in Adams Morgan, you do not find a disruptive / drunk crowd here late at night. The workers and owners are very friendly but sometimes short staffed so you might have to wait 10 minutes or so for your food. This is a small price to pay for some good eats, less hassle, and only minutes away from where you been partying. Technically this restaurant closes at 3 am, but I have witnessed it open til at least 3:30 - 4 on numerous occasions. Try it out yourself and let us know what you think in the comments !
3. Prince Cafe
1042 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC
Prince Cafe is where you go to continue your nightlife experience in DC. It's menu covers a mix of Middle Eastern, Indian and Pakistani food. The menu is large and that is especially appealing to late night palettes (let's face it, we are twisted and not looking for a 5 star meal - and you will not get one here). They have everything f
rom Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka, Falafels, Lamb Kabobs to Mater Paneer. Not to mention Samosas, fries and even onion rings. Prince cafe also has hookah's available till 5 am. If you are looking to escape the dimly lit, blaring music feel of the nightclub - this is probably not what you are looking for. Beware, food can take its time coming to you, so if you are in a hurry avoid this spot.
4. Georgetown Cafe1623 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington D.C.
After the club, it's the DINER ! Forget the after party, we are hungry and what else says the end of a good night out than a good breakfast plate! This is one diner that serves a variety of food from the popular breakfast items (pancakes, bacon, eggs), hamburgers to a well done grilled cheese. Get a nice glass of OJ, water or your favorite soda to round it off. Oh did I mention they make some great Onion Rings and Fries? The crowd is always eclitic with promoters, party-goers, cops on late night shifts and even club owners joining the mix. You may occasionally wait a little for a table to free up, but the wait is nothing like the Diner in Adams Morgan. This is a great spot to come sober up and get some good food. Here is a game, combine some breakfast items and create your own super meal. Cereal pie anyone?

5. Johnny Rockets
3131 M Street, NW Washington, DC 20007
Johnny Rockets keeps its doors open in Georgetown til 3:30 - 4 am. We have come here numerous times looking for some good food and have not been disappointed. Fresh burgers, and fries take up most of this menu. For the vegetarians out there, they make a great Grilled Cheese sandwich with a side of fries. You can also indulge in one of their milkshakes or just get a nice cool tall glass of OJ to help you with those drinks you been sipping on all night.
